"Partnerships" in small online media

Recently, presenters at Rhythm Changes have been reaching out to offer me the following.

On Instagram, I post a collaborative "giveaway", which roughly consists of 1) an offer to win 1-2 complimentary tickets to a show via a sweepstakes, 2) with entrance into the sweepstakes by some combination of following both my and the presenter's Instagram accounts, commenting on the giveaway post, and tagging other people while commenting on or sharing the post. I may also make an additional organic post(s) pointing toward the event.

In return, the presenter guarantees me 1-2 tickets of my own and provides the tickets for the giveaway.

Sure, I could accept this offer in good fun. It doesn't take that much effort. But if the presenter actually cared about gaining impressions from my audience, wouldn't they be willing to engage with me via this thing I've heard of called advertising? Wouldn't they pay for it?

They call them "promotional partnerships" and talk about how "my community" would appreciate the offer. Yikes.
